General Phsst! Phsst! 1. The entire outline of the Magic Kingdom was originally that of Mickey's head. Now it has changed a bit due to new park layouts (i.e. Mickey's Starland) REPORTED: RMAHAFFEY@DESIRE.WRIGHT.EDU (Ryan) 22FEB94 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Main Street USA Phsst! 1. The bridle gear on the horses that pull the trolly car has a couple of Hidden Mickeys on it. REPORTED: WDW List REPORTED: lknutson@cnde.iastate.edu (Loren & Brenda Knutson) 01JUN93 CONFIRMED: sroka@evax.gdc.com (Stan Sroka) Surprise Celebration Parade 1. The gold mask Mickey himself wears has ears. REPORTED: grahama@spider.co.uk (Graham Allan) 06JAN94 2. On one of the floats, there are several Hidden Mickeys made with the tiles, you will have to be up above normal viewing levels... get on someone's shoulders to see them or take the Magic Kingdom tour... REPORTED: danmiami@shadow.net (Dan) 03SEP95 3. On the Mickey float that has a big Mickey Balloon, the pressure gauges are a Hidden Mickey. I consider this as a Hidden Mickey because there were so many Decorative Mickeys and the gauges were not decorative nor obvious. REPORTED: dik@bastien.iii.net (Patricia Dupuis) 18SEP95 SpectroMagic Parade 1. On the right side of the float that has the mirrorballs on the front (the balls can move up and down) and next to the mirrorballs, there is a mirror. Now, there is a small and a larger mirrorball. The two, with the mirror, form a Mickey at certain times as they go up and down. REPORTED: TODDM@UCSVAX.UCS.UMASS.EDU (TODD D MCCARTNEY) Date: 16JUL93 I saw this on Mickey's float (which the balls do not move up and down on). This is a clever one. If you're on the left-hand side of the parade's forward motion, the large mirror ball forms Mickey's head with the small ball and it's reflection in the mirror behind forming the ears. I believe there is a Mickey visible on the right-hand side too, provided you're sitting on the curb (or just 3' tall to start with!). CONFIRMED: grahama@spider.co.uk (Graham Allan) 03SEP93 Columbia Harbor House Restaurant 1. There is a map on the wall in the downstairs dining area. When viewed from the cash registers, it is clearly a Mickey head. REPORTED: bowers@cis.ohio-state.edu (stuart bowers) 13MAR95 from:Brian Middleton (jmiddlet@vt.edu) Hello! I am writing to confirm the reported Hidden Mickey that was found on Main Street USA in the Columbia Harbor House Restauraunt. The Mickey in question looks like an old map of the world when viewing it up close. From the distance of the cash registers, it clearly resembles Mickey. It was so obvious I started laughing at myself for missing it. Thanks! CONFIRMED: jmiddlet@vt.edu (Brian Middleton) 18SEP95 In the Columbia Harbor restaurant, one of the pictures on the west wall in the area opposite the food service area is an old style map. This map features a large map of the world and two "ears" featuring other views. There is little question about the formation. CONFIRMED: jwilliam@fmgmt.mgmt.utoronto.ca (Jason Williams) 04OCT95 Cinderella's Castle Phsst! 1. While walking near the Castle, look at the lights.. There is one light that has three circular lamps on it... At night these form a shadow of (or light up) a Mickey on the pavement below... REPORTED: danmiami@shadow.net (Dan) 03SEP95 2. You can spot Mickey's shadow in the patterns made by the sun shining through the railings along the walkway. Mickey should be visible in mid-morning and again in mid-afternoon. REPORTED: Unknown I saw the Mickey shadows made by the fence at about 5:30 p.m. CONFIRMED: kathynv@world.std.com (Kathy Nicklas-Varraso) 22MAY94 3. With dinner at King Stefan's, small plate with a 3 inch tall margarine sculpture of Mickey was served. This is a decor Mickey. CONFIRMED: rjuers@oasys.dt.navy.mil (Raymond L Juers) Annapolis, MD CONFIRMED: cynthias@server.greatlakes.k12.mi.us (Cynthia Shaffer) 29JUN95 4. The dishes on which your food is served at King Stefan's Banquet Hall in Cinderella's Castle. The "coat of arms" on the edge of the dish has a Mickey head. CONFIRMED: PSYCHNUT73@aol.com (Deanna) 28MAR95 5. I was also served a glass of iced tea with two lemon rounds to resemble Mickey's ears. Does this count? CONFIRMED: cynthias@server.greatlakes.k12.mi.us or LVE227A.aol.com (Cynthia Shaffer) 29JUN95 6. If you go thru Cinderella's Castle, there is a series of shops outside on the left side with English-style Tudor timbering. The walls on the second story are white and the timbers are brown. Above one of the shops the Mickey shape is formed by the timbers on the 2nd story. I think it is a toy shop but can't remember. REPORTED: John Krikke 28JUN95 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Adventureland Jungle Cruise Phsst! 1. I was a Jungle Cruise skipper from '91-'93. It's back in the woods, where no guest will ever see it. It's made of lava-looking rocks in the Mickey pattern, and it's quite big. REPORTED: kpate@vprua.vprua.uab.edu (Kenny Pate) 15APR94 2. Within the Cambodian Ruins, there is a giant spider on the left side of the "treasure." On its back are three yellow circles in a familiar pattern. The Jungle Cruise ride will be going under rehab beginning April 11, so the Hidden Mickeys's may change. I used to work at Journey into Imagination, and I now work at Jungle Cruise, so I can assure you these Mickeys do exist!! REPORTED: ind00350@pegasus.cc.ucf.edu (C. Grant Simmons) 01APR94 3. Exiting the Cambodian Ruins, on the left-hand side of the boat, on the first non decorated column at the exit-way, there is a "dent" in the wall. If you look at it carefully (and only during daylight), this dent is actually a 2-foot across Mickey head in profile, complete with nose, mouth, and eye, along with those famous ears. The Jungle Cruise ride will be going under rehab beginning April 11, so the Hidden Mickeys' maychange. I used to work at Journey into Imagination, and I now work at Jungle Cruise, so I can assure you these Mickeys do exist!! REPORTED: ind00350@pegasus.cc.ucf.edu (C. Grant Simmons) 01APR94 4. The sign hanging over the entrance has barnacles at the bottom. Under the letter "c" in the word "Exotic" the mouse appears from the formation of 3 of the barnacles. The cluster is separate from all others. REPORTED: TODDM@UCSVAX.UCS.UMASS.EDU (TODD D MCCARTNEY) and grahama@spider.co.uk (Graham Allan) 03 Sep 93 5. Just wanted to add a possible Hidden Mickey in the Jungle Cruise. It can be found while waiting in line before you get on the boat inside the pavallion. There is a fan with a long pole laying on a rafter on the roof shaped like a Mickey. REPORTED: hylka@weather.cod.edu (The Hylka Family) 18SEP95 6. Where the elephants are taking baths, there is a Mickey in the background, etched in the stone. It's on the other side of these rocks, backstage. It's only visible to the guests when the vegetation on the rain forest canopy (in the beginning of the ride, on the Amazon river, when you see those huge butterflys with "wingspans all the way from 12 inches to 1 foot long!") is thin. If a guest knows what to look for they can see an upside down, kinda deformed, Hidden Mickey!!! REPORTED: heichman@vt.edu (Colin R. Heichman) 11DEC93 7. Just a piece of trivia. At the end of the ride, there are crates stacked to the boat's starboard side. One has the name "Emmer" painted on it. Greg Emmer took over as Vice President of the Magic Kingdom after Bill Sullivan retired. (Pardon me if the job title is not exactly correct) REPORTED: bowers@cis.ohio-state.edu (stuart bowers) 13MAR95 CONFIRMED: DanAmrich@aol.com (Dan Amrich) 24SEP95 Pirates of the Caribean Phsst! 1. One of the producers of "The Simpsons" pointed this one out to me, and said Tim Disney told it to her. During the Pirates Of The Caribbean, as you pass the ship where the captain is brandishing his sword and firing cannonballs over your head, his shadow is thrown up on the mainsail. As the captain turns, his shadow turns into you-know-who. Especially blatant at Disneyland, it's also effective at Walt Disney World. REPORTED: rongallo@ix.netcom.com (Ron) 26SEP95 REPORTED: MWigley@eworld.com (Missy Wigley) 01OCT95 2. In the final scene of the ride. There are several lamps hanging on the walls and columns of the room displaying a flickering candle effect. The iron works at the bottom of all of these lamps are twisted to show the traditional Hidden Mickeys. Best place to view is right before you make the left-hand turn to the unload dock, look to the collum on your left. REPORTED: bholst@lamar.ColoState.EDU 26JAN95 CONFIRMED: ewart@shadow.net 28JUN95 3. As you are entering unload, there is a row boat attached to the wall facing you. It is on your right hand side. The rope from the boat points to a Hidden Mickeys. There is a paint "splotch" in the shape of a Mickey profile. I believe the paint is white while the wall is dark. My roommate was a Pirates CM and she pointed it out to me. I then saw it myself. REPORTED: bmurph@u.washington.edu (Becky Murphy) 14NOV94 The white splotch on the left wall in the final scene as the boats leave the scene exists, but I can't really tell if it's supposed to be a Mickey in profile (looking to the left). I guess it's a Mickey if you want it to be... but I was not convinced. WISHFUL THINKING: DanAmrich@aol.com (Dan Amrich) 24SEP95 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Frontierland General 1. Above the Frontier Trading Post (where they have the Stunt Show), there is a building which has a running series of Hidden Mickeys at the top of the building. REPORTED: friedman@mbcl.rutgers.edu (Rich Friedman) 16JUL93 This is actually on the "Traders of Timbuktu" building in Adventureland. It's there, but I'm not sure if it qualifies as a hidden Mickey. CONFIRMED: grahama@spider.co.uk (Graham Allan) 06JAN94 2. There is a hidden Mickey in the stone wall of the Pocahontas photo exhibit in Frontierland. The stone wall is to the right of the stage where John Smith and Pocahontas stand. There is one large round stone for Mickey's head and two smaller stones on top for his ears embeded in the wall. REPORTED: rzaleski@isd.csc.com (Rich Zaleski) 11OCT95 Splash Mountain 1. In the first queue area after you enter the doors, just before you go outside to go up the stairs. The walls are made of stone, and on the right hand side about 4 feet off the ground are a certain pattern of stones. That is a series of thin flat stones supporting a rather large (foot across) circular stone, with a couple of smaller (6 inch across) stones forming a Hidden Mickeys. REPORTED: boby@access.digex.net 29SEP94 CONFIRMED: hayesdr@ix.netcom.com (Dean R. Hayes) 05JUL95 CONFIRMED: m_dube@alcor.concordia.ca (Martin Dube) 30AUG95 2. There is a Mickey in the side of the ride at Splash Mountain. The Mickey is after you see the castle (when you are outside), at the beginning of the ride. When the log-boat reenters an enclosed area, if you look off to the left of the log-boat there are "purple-blue" rocks. Mickey's head is "stamped" into the rocks. Above the rocks are "houses" where Br'er Rabbit and the gang hang out. REPORTED: G&L (Names withheld by request) 09JUL95 3. In the middle of the ride, if you look at all the clouds, one of them has a peculiar resemblance to the Mouse enough to stand out from all the other clouds. I was told that this is behind the boarded up house that the rabbit left. The Hidden Mickeys is about the size of a quarter. This is small, but sure looks like the traditional Hidden Mickeys. CONFIRMED: grahama@spider.co.uk (Graham Allan) 06JAN94 4. In the projected scene (on your right) where Br'er Fox and Bear chase Br'er Rabbit over the hill, at the very end of the projection, Br'er Bear appears to be a Mickey. I saw this just as the boat was rounding the corner, and when the projection repeated, I found it was difficult (but not impossible) to see closer up. REPORTED: IEBF94S@TJUVM.TJU.EDU (Craig Doerrmann) 15MAY93 CONFIRMED: gary_eckhardt@realworld.com (Gary Eckhardt) 17FEB94 5. At the end, in the riverboat scene, the pink clouds in the background look suspiciously like Mickey Mouse lying down for a nap. The feet and belly are in focus, but his head is rather stretched. CONFIRMED: sroka@evax.gdc.com (Stan Sroka) I don't think this is meant to be clouds, the outline is too sharp. The shape of the pink bit looks like Mickey is lying back on the grassy hill when viewed as you enter the riverboat scene. CONFIRMED: grahama@spider.co.uk (Graham Allan) 06JAN94 CONFIRMED: gary_eckhardt@realworld.com (Gary Eckhardt) 17FEB94 CONFIRMED: pammy@MIT.EDU 20APR94 In the riverboat scene, there is another smaller cloud below the lying down Mickey that is in the shape of his head. CONFIRMED: bowers@cis.ohio-state.edu (stuart bowers) 13MAR95 6. In the riverboat scene, there is another smaller cloud below the lying down Mickey that is in the shape of his head. REPORTED: bowers@cis.ohio-state.edu (stuart bowers) 13MAR95 7. Just before the big drop is a Hidden Mickeys. It isn't the "traditional" hidden Mickey (Face on) but a side view - as reported. REPORTED: pvl@Cadence.com (Pete LaMaster) Note: There is a great deal of controversy over whether this is a "Hidden Mickey" or not, Xris hasn't been able to find it and I haven't been back to check it out. So, I am leaving it on the list so you can make up your own minds and report back. 8. In the "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah" scene, the is a Hidden Mickey profile lying on his back in the pink clouds to the right of the steam boat. REPORTED: WDW List Near the end of the ride, you pass by a river boat where the characters are singing "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah", behind these characters, there is an orange colored sky with clouds in it. If you study the clouds carefully, you'll notice that one of them is a silhouette of Mickey Mouse himself. CONFIRMED: jstephen@satie.arts.usf.edu (Jason Stephens) 06OCT95 Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Phsst! 1. Look for the three cactii just outside the exit in the shape of a Hidden Mickey. We saw one a couple of weeks ago. As you finish Big Thunder just before rolling into the station, there are three rusting gear wheels on the right hand side of the track in a clear Mickey. This was noticed by my 14 yr. old daughter and confirmed on one of several later rides by me. REPORTED: Roger Ratcliff (address unknown) 26MAY95 CONFIRMED: m_dube@alcor.concordia.ca (Martin Dube) 30AUG95 3. As you climb for the last drop, the shadows of boulders that appear to tumble down at you have a Hidden Mickey head hidden among them. It is very very hard to see. You have to know what it is you are looking for to see it. REPORTED: jenn@chinet.pd.mcs.net (Jenn) 13AUG95 Frontierland Train Station 1. There are three wooden barrels (one big and two small) placed to look like another Hidden Mickey. REPORTED: sroka@evax.gdc.com (Stan Sroka) CONFIRMED: shawn@cars.com (Shawn Connelly) 03AUG93 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Liberty Square Haunted Mansion Phsst! 1. Arrangement of plate and adjoining saucers on the banquet table. REPORTED: WDW List 2. As you go through the ride and pass the woman's head in a crystal ball. There's a stuffed Mickey sitting across from the table where the ball rests. It may take a time or two through to see him in that light, but he's just sitting there in a chair. This is a decor Mickey. REPORTED: rcohen@awod.com (Rob Cohen) 13FEB95 There is no stuffed Mickey in the seance circle. We have no idea where they got that one from. CLARIFICATION: dme42722@pegasus.cc.ucf.edu (Ron & Dave) 11OCT95 3. The Haunted Mansion's Hidden Mickey is in the layout of the entrance rooms. Two circular rooms take guests into the pre-show area, which is a much larger circular room. REPORTED: kpate@vprua.vprua.uab.edu (Kenny Pate) 15APR94 The arrangement of the lobby and two stretch rooms is Mickey-ish, but all three rooms are roughly the same size, so it's not a Mickey. CONFIRMED: grahama@spider.co.uk (Graham Allan) 02OCT94 When you first enter the attaction, you are asked to step into the "dead center" of the room. This room would be forming the face of Mickey Mouse. Then there are two actual options. (Each being one of his ears) So from the first room they ask you to proceed to the next "s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g room" which would be one of the two Mickey Mouse ears. Neat huh? CONFIRMED: kozuch@stccadm.stcc.mass.edu 05JAN95 You have to see a map of this ride to see this one. There are actually two stretch rooms at the beginning of the ride. Together with the foyer, the entire entrance forms one big Mickey. CONFIRMED: bowers@cis.ohio-state.edu (stuart bowers) 13MAR95 This is a structural Mickey. As you enter the haunted house you are placed in a circular room, the "Aging Portrait" room. This is Mickey's head. The crowd then goes into one of the ears. There are 2 stretching rooms that are spaced enough so that they are the ears to the bigger "head" room. CONFIRMED: simone@destin.gulfnet.com (Vinnie, Sue, & Chris Simone) 26MAY95 In the Haunted Mansion, there are two elevator rooms. They are located in such away around the central room that they make a Hidden Mickey. The Haunted Mansion has 2 more. The eyes of the third portrait on the left, inside the first room you come to in the carts, contain Mickey's as pupils. About half way through, there is a big spider on a web on the left side. He is wearing a red mickey tie on his back. REPORTED: ewart@shadow.net 28JUN95 It has been rumored that the eyes of one of the portraits in the gallery has Mickey shaped pupils, but that is wrong. WISHFUL THINKING: CARRIED@clemson.edu (Carrie-Ann Dunn) 09OCT95 The hidden Mickey that was seen in the third portrait in the portrait hallway is an X. You can only see the top half so it looks like a Mickey. I regret to inform that it does not exists. CLARIFICATION: dme42722@pegasus.cc.ucf.edu (Ron & Dave) 11OCT95 5. There is also a hidden Mickey as a substitute for an eyeball in the hall where the eyes follow you. REPORTED: scix1@library.lib.binghamton.edu (Unknown) 17JUL95 6. Look carefully at the designs on the chairs while riding in the Haunted Mansion... you will be pleasantly surprised! You will see a hidden Donald Duck! REPORTED: danmiami@shadow.net (Dan) 03SEP95 7. Right where you load onto the ride, there is a table to the left with steins of beer and Gudha cheese on it. Above the table are stained glass windows with various sizes of circles. The pane on the top-left has the classic shape of a hidden Mickey formed out of three of the circles. REPORTED: bowers@cis.ohio-state.edu (stuart bowers) 13MAR95 2. At the Skyway entrance gate (when heading to Tomorrowland) there are pink Hidden Mickeys among the flowery decorations overhead. These are close but, I suspect, not close enough to be real Hidden Mickeys. The "circles" are all the same size anyway. REPORTED: grahama@spider.co.uk (Graham Allan) 06JAN94 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea Note: 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea is currently undergoing refurishment. Hidden Mickeys may have changed. Phsst! 1. REPORTED: grahama@spider.co.uk (Graham Allan) 06SEP93 2. I've worked at the puddle (as we called it). I was told that in the treasure scene with the sea serpent there was a gold plate that had a golden Mickey on it. Divers are constantly going in the water to fix the scenes and the plate has either been removed during a restoration or has shifted so that it is not visable. REPORTED: Rafiki.Watson@mail.utexas.edu (Clifton Warren Watson) 31MAR95 It's A Small World 1. When you fly past a scene of the lost boys around a fire, one of them casts a shadow of Mickey on to the wall behind him. REPORTED: Teesa47@aol.com & Scoot76@aol.com 21JUL95 Snow White's Adventure 1. While in queue, I was studying the big mural of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Right in the center is a scene of the Dwarfs little home with their laundry hanging out to dry. On the clothes line is a pair of white boxer shorts with what looks like red hearts all over it. If you look closely at the one on the left edge of the boxer shorts, you see that it is not a heart but a pair of Mickey ears. REPORTED: dlm194@email.psu.edu 20MAR95 Some of the hearts on the boxers do resemble hidden Mickeys. But the particular one mentioned is definately a Mickey. CONFIRMED: kwg105@email.psu.edu (Kevin Graham) 12APR95 2. As you enter the attraction you will see the new mural behind the loading area. The 'Mickey' is on the chimney of the cottage, a little more than half way down by one of the limbs of a tree that stretches across the chimney. The gray rocks in the chimney form the two ears and head. REPORTED: Brett Freemon 26MAY95 It's an almost Mickey. The area on the chimney in question in on the corner of the chimney, so Mickey's would-be head wraps around and would exist on two different planes. After it wraps around, however, I couldn't really locate the right ear. I think this one is more coincidence and wishing than a Hidden Mickey.
